*** Congrats to all those involved on the Putricide Kill ***
What an incredible journey it has been. Over the past year we’ve bested some of the tougher encounters this game has thrown at its players. We’ve gone through two guild “personnel changes/rebuilds” and have gotten to know some incredible people (and more than our fair share of shit-heads).
When I took the job, like many of you who are still here from when it happened, I was unsure about where we’d end up. Would we falter? Would the strain of recruiting again and again and again get to me/us?
I think we’ve all proved the answer to that is, “No” (in a good way of course). We came through Ulduar and into the TOC lull with high expectations. “Look how well we’re doing in Ulduar, TOC should be a joke lolol”. For the most part, that was true. Then the Bug…..no comment.
The frustration of losing people due to content burnout, feeling like they were capable of “more”, and yet another round of fresh recruits to mold had many of us feeling “meh” about the whole thing.
When ICC launched we took back our goals, vision, and “guild” from the wolves. Gated content, Limited Attempts, “Keep Those Tanks Alive!, and an extra two weeks on the Lich King were passed and we’re into Hard Modes. A few weeks later, the same “lull” set back in, but this time it did not get the best of us.
The combined effort of all of us again bested everything (Let’s be honest here, Heroic LK was not designed for our guild......yet.....) that the game had thrown at us.
I am just as proud today, as I was the day I was offered the job. Proud in what we’ve done, and more importantly, who we are. This guild is a home for many of us- a place we can go to bitch about our jobs, whine about our wives, or just sit and lurk …. (/lurk /lurk /lurk). It’s a place where you’re accepted for who you are AND what you can do. It’s a place where we shoot Saronite Vapors, ask to tank “In My Gear”, mispronounce the word “Chloe”, talk about how “no one has done Firefighter”, and ask each other really disgusting “Would You Rather’s…”.
Congratulations Zug Life on an amazing expansion. Thanks “from the top” for all of the AMAZING times and experiences.
